FAQs

FAQ

How long is my booking?

Booking durations are listed in your confirmation email and can vary slightly. There's often another booking after yours, so we kindly ask that you vacate the table once your booking time has finished. Howard Smith Wharves has plenty of venues to explore, so feel free to ask us for recommendations!

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Our chefs are very accommodating with dietary requirements. Please let us know in advance if they're uncommon or life-threatening. Gluten free, dairy free, nut free, vegan and vegetarian? Easy done!

Do groups need to order a set menu?

We ask that groups of [7] or more dine on one of our set menus. We often recommend this for groups of any size, as it's a great way to try a variety of our favourite dishes, and it lets you sit back, relax and enjoy your catch-up. When dining on a set menu, the whole table must take part.

Can I bring a pram?

Please give us as much notice as you can when dining with prams. The restaurant has quite a compact layout, which can make extra space tricky to find, but with enough notice we can make anything happen. Please include children and prams in your total guest numbers when booking. For example, a booking for 6 with a pram should be made for 7 people.

Is Yoko wheelchair accessible?

Please let us know in advance if you need wheelchair access, so we can make sure you, your guests and the surrounding tables are all comfortable. Please note the upstairs dining area isn't wheelchair accessible. Ambulant and wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are located behind the restaurants.

Is there parking nearby?

There's a secure car park at the Boundary Street entrance to the Wharves. You can find prices on the Howard Smith Wharves website (https://howardsmithwharves.com/). Please note we don't validate parking. Street parking is available on Bowen Terrace.

If you're driving, please allow enough time to arrive for your booking during busy periods. We can't always extend bookings, but we'll always try.

What if the weather's bad?

Brisbane weather is unpredictable! We're completely protected from the rain, but it can get a little cool, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or shawl if you feel the chill.

Is there a dress code?

It's Queensland! Shorts and thongs are definitely allowed.

Can I bring my own wine?

We're a fully licensed venue with an extensive wine list, so we don't offer BYO.

Can I bring a cake?

We love celebrations! You're welcome to bring your own cake, with no charge to serve it. Just let us know in advance. We can only offer this for groups of up to 20 guests. For larger groups, we recommend individual treats such as doughnuts or cupcakes. We're also happy to put a candle in the dessert of one of our set menus for the birthday guest.

Can I bring decorations?

As residents of Howard Smith Wharves, we're part of its award-winning sustainability program, which limits some decorations. Small floral arrangements and place cards are welcome, but unfortunately we can't allow balloons, glitter or confetti. A note for hens' parties: we're a family-friendly restaurant and often host children of all ages.

Why do you need my credit card details?

We'll occasionally ask for credit card details to secure your booking. They're entered into a secure platform and held until 48 hours after your booking. Your details can't be accessed, and are only used in the event of a late cancellation. Please let us know about any changes to your booking with plenty of notice to avoid unnecessary charges.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand plans can change. Please let us know if you need to cancel or change your booking at least 72 hours beforehand to avoid a cancellation fee of $50 per person. Groups of 16 or more, and exclusive bookings, need to give 7 days' notice in writing to avoid cancellation fees.

Is there a service charge?

A 7% service charge is added to the bill for groups of 8 or more. It goes directly to the team working on the day.

Can we split the bill?

We're happy to take up to 4 payments for any size group. There's an ATM at Felons for your convenience.

Do you sell gift cards?

Gift cards are available to buy online and are valid for 3 years from the purchase date.
